Everyone around knows the story of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (whether we actually read it in high school or skimmed the cliff notes version), and this summer, one of our favorite stories came alive with the 2013 movie version of “The Great Gatsby”. We have listed this as our top movie of the summer by a LANDSLIDE, and in this article, we tell you exactly why we chose it! BE WARNED: Our reasoning is pretty non- negotiable.

7) The Dialect

The first thing that caught our attention was the eloquent and distinct diction of all of the characters. This “reason” proves just how much effect the little details can have on a film. We really felt that we were instantly transported to the roaring twenties simply by hearing the first few words uttered from each character’s mouth.
