Sometimes movies have sequels. Other times studios will cash-in by making a prequel. On more rare occasions movies will share a more subtle connection that binds them all together. This is five examples of movies that connect to each other in very odd ways.
The Cornetto Trilogy is a series of movies directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The three movies in the Cornetto Trilogy include Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End. All three movies have very different plots. Shaun of the Dead is a zombie movie, Hot Fuzz is a buddy-cop movie and The World’s End is about a robot-alien apocalypse.
So what makes this rag tag group of movies a trilogy?
The films share the same director, cast and all three feature a comedy bit where Simon Pegg has to jump a fence (or fail to do so in two of the three movies). Something else strange also connects these three movies, ice cream. A different flavor of Cornetto (little frozen ice cream cones) is featured prominently in each of those movies and is without a doubt the silliest connection that these films have with each other.
