Television is full of characters—funny characters, scary characters, mean and sneaky, fat and ugly, you name it—TV’s got it! The other thing that you can always count on when it comes to television is that for every stereotype, there will be a character. Not always in sitcoms either. Many of the major dramatic series’ on TV today have extremely stereotypical characters. The no-nonsense, don’t pay attention to my sex, female cop character, for instance. Or the shady, can’t be trusted lawyer. This isn’t laziness on the part of the writers or producers; not at all, in fact, patterning some characters on stereotypes allows the audience to be instantly familiar with this character’s personality as the story begins. In the short format of the television show, there isn’t time to waste developing a character’s history or personality through dialog and action. In this case, the human fault towards stereotyping comes in handy to the writer.
One of my favorite character stereotypes is the Bimbo-type character; the over-sexed, or overtly sexual female that is just as equally under-educated or overtly stupid! This hyper-hot, mega-moron female character can be found in all genres of TV shows, not just sitcoms. Here is a list of, whom I consider, the greatest of the television bimbos. See what you think.

#1 – Daphne – Scooby Doo Movie (2002)

Actress: Sarah Michelle Gellar

For years she was the ultimate cartoon bimbo, but about 11 years back all of use guys who dreamed of being in the gang just to get with the hot one got a chance to see what she would look like as a live girl. Casting Sarah Michelle Gellar was a good move, she fit the bill fairly well and her interpretation of the character was spot on.

#2 – Frenchy – Grease (1978)

Actress: Didi Conn

This beauty school dropout definitely makes the list as an all-time bimbo. She lacks a lot in the hotness department, but makes up for it in the ditzyness (is that a word?) area. Above all the voice makes it all come together. It grates on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.
